Introduction

Welcome to Mythio, an independently operated digital service based in India and available to users worldwide. Mythio provides audio documentaries through its mobile application. The Mythio website is primarily a landing page that provides information about the service.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Mythio app and website, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

By using Mythio, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app or website.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

To create a Mythio account, users must provide:

• Name
• Email address
• Date of birth

Your name and email address are used to create and manage your account, authenticate your access, communicate with you, provide customer support, and assist with account recovery.

Your date of birth is used to determine your age and restrict access to content that may not be appropriate for your age. We do not use your date of birth for advertising.

Mythio does not ask you to provide your country, phone number, gender, profile photograph, precise location, contacts, photographs, or microphone recordings.

Listening and App Activity

We collect information needed to provide and maintain your listening experience, including:

• Listening history
• Playback progress and completion status
• Favourites and saved documentaries
• Ratings and feedback
• Notification preferences

Mythio does not currently provide offline downloads or collect search history.

Technical and Analytics Information

Firebase Analytics may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, including app interactions, Firebase installation or app-instance identifiers, app version, device type, operating system, language, and similar technical information.

Firebase Cloud Messaging generates and processes a device token so that Mythio notifications can be delivered to your device.

Mythio does not use Firebase Crashlytics or Firebase Performance Monitoring.

Subscription Information

We receive information necessary to manage your subscription, including the product purchased, subscription status, transaction or purchase identifiers, receipt or purchase-token information, renewal status, and subscription expiry information.

Support Communications

We collect the information you provide when contacting us for support, reporting an issue, requesting account assistance, or submitting feedback.

Website Analytics

The Mythio landing-page website uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, visit duration, referral source, browser type, device information, analytics identifiers, and general location information derived from an IP address.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your Mythio account.
• Provide audio documentaries and maintain your listening progress.
• Display your listening history, favourites, and ratings.
• Restrict age-inappropriate content based on your date of birth.
• Confirm your subscription status and provide access to paid content.
• Send service-related notifications and alerts about new Mythio content.
• Respond to support requests and resolve technical or account issues.
• Understand how the app and website are used and improve the service.
• Protect Mythio and its users, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Mythio does not send third-party advertising or promotional notifications.

3. Third-Party Services

Google Firebase

Mythio uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting for account authentication, data storage, app functionality, analytics, notifications, backend operations, and website hosting.

Mythio does not use Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Performance Monitoring, or Firebase Crashlytics.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on the Mythio landing-page website to understand website traffic and how visitors interact with the site.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat is used to manage subscriptions and purchase entitlements. Mythio provides RevenueCat with an identifier linked to your Mythio account and receives information about your purchases and subscription status.

Apple App Store and Google Play

Purchases and subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The applicable app store may provide Mythio and RevenueCat with purchase confirmations, transaction identifiers, receipts, purchase tokens, renewal information, and subscription status.

These third-party providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Mythio offers subscriptions that provide access to paid content or features. Payments are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device.

Mythio does not directly receive, process, or store your complete debit-card, credit-card, bank-account, Apple Pay, or Google Pay information.

Subscription cancellations, billing disputes, and refund requests must be managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play in accordance with the applicable store's policies. Deleting your Mythio account does not automatically cancel an active app-store subscription.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Website Cookies

The Mythio mobile app does not use browser cookies. However, the Mythio landing-page website uses Google Analytics, which may place analytics cookies or use similar technologies on your device.

These technologies help us understand website traffic and usage. Mythio does not use them to display personalised advertising.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and through any cookie controls made available on the website. Blocking analytics cookies will not prevent you from viewing the main content of the Mythio landing page.

App Analytics

The Mythio app uses analytics identifiers and similar mobile technologies rather than browser cookies to understand app usage and performance.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers that help us operate Mythio, process subscriptions, provide analytics, deliver notifications, host data, and provide technical infrastructure.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a lawful request, prevent fraud or misuse, protect the security of Mythio, or protect the rights and safety of users and others.

Mythio does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Mythio does not display advertisements or share personal information with advertising networks or artificial-intelligence service providers.

7. Data Storage and International Processing

Data Storage

Mythio uses Google Firebase and related cloud infrastructure to store and process user information.

International Processing

Mythio is operated from India and is available worldwide. Our service providers, including Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play, may process or store information in India, the United States, or other countries.

Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure that information processed internationally is handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information. These measures include authenticated account access, Firebase security rules, restricted administrative access, access controls, and encrypted transmission where supported.

However, no internet transmission, application, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and should contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your account information and associated activity for as long as your Mythio account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

• Account information, listening history, playback progress, favourites, ratings, notification tokens, and related account data are scheduled for deletion when your deletion request is completed.
• Account-deletion requests are reviewed and are ordinarily completed within 30 days.
• Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve a request, prevent misuse, or comply with legal obligations.
• Limited subscription or transaction records may be retained where necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
• Analytics information is retained according to our analytics settings and the retention practices of the relevant service provider.

We do not intentionally maintain separate backups of deleted Mythio account information. Some information may remain temporarily in service-provider logs or systems while routine deletion processes are completed.

You may request deletion from the Account section within the Mythio app or by emailing support@getmythio.com from the email address registered to your account with the subject line "Delete My Mythio Account".

10. Your Rights and Choices

Access

You may request information about the personal data associated with your Mythio account.

Correction

You may update your name through your profile or contact us to request correction of inaccurate account information.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion through the Mythio app or by contacting us at support@getmythio.com.

Notifications

You may disable Mythio notifications through your device's notification settings.

Withdrawal of Consent

Where information is processed based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent by changing the relevant settings or contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

Additional Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including rights relating to data portability, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, or complaints to an applicable data-protection authority.

We may ask you to verify ownership of your account before completing a request. Some requests may be limited where retaining information is necessary to comply with the law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or protect the rights and safety of Mythio and its users.

11. Children's Privacy and Age-Restricted Content

Mythio is not intended for children under the age of 13. Users must provide an accurate date of birth when creating an account.

Mythio uses the date of birth provided by the user to prevent access to content that is not appropriate for the user's age. Date-of-birth information is not used for personalised advertising.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use Mythio subject to any parental-consent or other age-related requirements applicable in their country. Where required by applicable law, we may request additional authorisation, restrict access, or take other appropriate steps.

If we become aware that an account was created by a child under 13, we may suspend the account and delete the associated personal information. A parent or guardian may contact us at support@getmythio.com regarding a child's information.

12. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on your location and applicable law, we process personal information where it is necessary to provide Mythio under our agreement with you, where you have provided consent, where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or where we have a legitimate interest in operating, securing, analysing, and improving the service.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Mythio, our service providers, or applicable requirements. When the policy is updated, the revised date will be displayed at the top of this page.

Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we may provide an additional notice within the app or through the email address associated with your account.
